1. Level up to at least level 19.
2. Change your skillset to minion master.
3. spam lvl 19 MM LFG in thirsty, yer bound to find yourself in a good group.

If you want to be with a good party, don't skip so much that you are not lvl 19-20 in the deseert.
I'm a good player and would never party up with <lvl 19's in the desert. Many other skilled players would agree with me.

If they're under level 19, it would mean one of two things:

1. They've played well enough to get that far and didn't feel the need to complete numerous quests that simply rewarded you with experience. I know going through the game a second time my monk skipped every exp quest and simply got his skills, putting him around level 17 into 18 for the entire desert.

2. They received a run through areas because they have already done through the game prehaps multiple times and simply want to ascend ASAP. As such, they have prior knowledge of the area and what to expect in the mission ahead.

A bad player would need to enlist the aid of level 20s, as their skill level obviously requires someone who can pick up their slack. I have the tendency to bring my monk to Thirsty River when some guildies need the mission, and we usually have one or two players around level 14-15 not from the guild. The presence of a player who has considerable knowledge of an area, and who is in the key role of the group (the monk) will certainly make matters far easier than simply maxing your level. When you also consider that come post-ascension, the tactic of maxing your level will not exist. Best to not rely on a strategy that will only go so far.

That aside, what exactly are you having difficulties with? Which henchmen are you taking, what is the furthest you've gotten in the mission before failing, are you getting your morale maxed before entering the first area, what is your skill setup/attribute split... we can't properly examine the problem if all the details aren't given.

Did I say never, yes i did. Not true, but i ment never with ppl i dont know, or whom a mate of mine doesn't know.

I've tried even helping random groups there, tell em what to do, when to attack and all. Given up on that, always one or two who rush / aggro the world. Or upset monk who leaves.

I agree with Ractoth, give more details on where you have the difficulties pls.

Important things to keep in mind for this mission: Aggro control and timing.

Begin by killing the sand giants for the morale boost. I normally just kill 4 for +8% as killing the first team boss will give you the max +10% and the first team is easy.

I tend to make sure the ghost stays outside of each arena to avoid having him killed and ending the mission. Click on him and make sure he says 'I'll wait here'.

Each team consists of 8 foes, 2 patrols of 3, a boss of some sort and a priest.

Every 2 minutes, the enemy priest will resurrect its entire team and they will respawn next to him, inside the base. Aim is to kill the priest to prevent this, but it does not mean rushing the priest on the off. Use the time to reduce the numbers in their team, and go for the priest 30 seconds before the resurrect time, e.g. 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, etc.

For each new set of teams/arena, the time will restart.

Always call target, even with a henchie team. If in a PUG, have one person who knows the timing to call target. If a target is called then attack it.

First Arena:
Through the gate and go straight ahead to the end wall. Bypass the patrol to your left. In front of the base, there'll be 2 illusionist and a champion. Take out the casters first followed by the champion. Once done, the other patrol will have returned. Do the same, casters first. It's very unlikely you'll kill all in this patrol before 1:30. Leave what is left and go for the priest. Once the priest falls, take out any remaining foes.

The enemy mesmers use Chaos Storm, damage and reduce energy if you're casting. It has a small AoE, so if you're hit by it then step away from it.

Once the team is dead, the ghost will open the gates for the next arena. Take time out to recharge health and energy.

Second Arena:
You now face two teams. The time to attack priest still holds true. But you now have to consider when to attack the second team, deal with One team at a time.

Through the gate, go straight ahead, hugging the wall to your left to avoid the team to the right. The team ahead of you will come round the corner. Bows and Champions, take them out one at a time. 2 Eles will hold their position casting spells at you, don't worry about them.

Take down as many as you can that are close to you. At 1:30, go forth, pass the eles and into the base. Kill the priest. Once done, finish off the remaining foes.

Once the team is dead, head back towards the gate where you left the ghost. Depending on the time, either start attacking the next team or wait. I usually wait until it is 10 seconds before resurrect time before attacking. This gives me the full 2 minutes to dispatch the team. If starting earlier, don't kill as they'll only be revived. Switch targets and soften them up for the kill after ressurect time. Take out the Necro and 2 bows and then move towards the base, for the next patrol. 30 seconds before resurrect time, go for the priest.

Things to watch out for here are the Throw Dirt from the bows that will blind and impede your attacks. Necros use Consume Corpse and beam about the place making you waste time chasing them.

When both teams are defeated the ghost will open gates to the next arena. Again, take time to heal and regen energy.

Third Arena:
Once the gate opens, go right, going counter clockwise of the area. A patrol will have left, going to the other patrol, leaving the base open. Go in and take on the priest first. There will be a boss swordsman, so watch out for his Hamstring skill which will cripple you. Kill the priest and then the boss or any of the returning patrol. Since the priest is already dead, you can deal with this team quite calmly.

Once this team is dead, you can make you're way to the next. Again, you can wait until 10 seconds before the resurrect time or start your attack. One of the patrols for this team tend to stay inside the base. So once the patrol outside has been dealt with, just go straight in and target the priest. Kill the priest and then the others, leaving the boss ranger last.

Once this team is dead, head back towards the ghostly hero. And go clockwise. At this point, I'm usually waiting for the 5:50 marker to start. Aggro the patrol (caster and 2 bows) and kill them. Move towards the base and you should be able to aggro and pull the patrol out from the base. Kill them, or what you can of them.

This last priest is protected by a monk boss, so I tend to go for the priest 45 seconds before the resurrect time. Many people believe you need a mesmer or ranger to interrupt the monk boss from healing. Yes, this will help but not essential. I've always gone for full beating on the priest, even when I done this with my mesmer character. If everyone beats on the priest, the healing will not save it. Once the priest is dead, focus on the monk boss and then finish off the rest of the team. You should be able to finish this last arena within 12 minutes to get the bonus.

I hope this long post of mine helps.

Here is an easy to read post:

Area 1 and 2:
*Kill priest at 30 seconds till respawn - kill everything else up until then, boss LAST (for the n00bs)

Area 3:
War *Rush INSIDE WARRIOR HUT IMMEDIATELY - dont stop - you can wall the rangers from there and kill the priest right off so he wont heal. Healer shoudl be able to heal the dmg from the warrior boss.
Monk *Kill patrol outside, wait for respawn - warrior block door - when they bunch up at war, ele nukes - spread out dmg drains healer's energy, then go for priest
Ranger *Kill patrol, Kill priest, kill garrison, kill boss.
